2006 S80 Engine dragging in drive/ in reverse

I have a 2006 Volvo S80 Automatic Turbo, with about 96,000 km's. When accelerating from 80km/hr to 100, I continue to accelerate but it feels as though the engine is dragging. Today I needed to do a quick, long reverse and same thing happened only it really felt like it was lowering the capacity for the car to speed up. I have had a tranny flush, new spark plugs, new engine mounts.

any ideas?

u have a 2006? very few folks have that year. i too have 2006 with 92,000 miles tho. anyways about the problem well i can think of few things :
1) check the engine filter
2) when was the last oil change/filter done and if so then how is the oil condition
3) maybe you need to clean throttle body intake
4) And/or clean the MAF sensor located next to engine filter.
5) Have you had free software upgrade from the dealer. I think you should do it even if the dealer says no.

those are the basic things i can think of..have a look @ those list and see if you still get that feeling..

Thanks, I had the throttle body cleaned, had software upgrades as well, no messages, no problems shifting gear - I don't think it's the tranny.

Once and a while when I idle the engine "shudders" momentarily - almost like a stall.
My last oil change was August 23 2012, now I only put about 4,000 km on it since then, called Volvo if I need one and they said I am good, does that sound right?

well did the engine shudders before the maintenance too? if not then something related to the service you did could have caused it to behave like that. Who did the service. I m guessing the dealer???

also post introduction here

It started before service, but you may be right. I think the "shudder" and drag are related. Today i was idling and it stUddered, but this time it was shorter followed by a slight chop!
Almost as if the engine was going to stop.

Yes the dealer did service.

I will post and intro soon. Thanks for your help so far.
