2007 S80 frequent flat battery and manual door lock issue

Hi all, I'm new here so feel free to point me to where this issue may have been discussed previously...

If my 2007 Volvo S80 sits idle for more than a week or so, I have to jump start it. This is the case whether the battery is old or brand new. In fact, I've had to replace batteries on this car every 18-20 months on average. The dealer has not been able to ascertain why the batteries don't last long or what's causing them to drain within one week of the car not being used, but a few years ago they did think it was an issue with the satellite radio turning on to find a signal when the car was parked. They uploaded some new software circa 2015 saying that would solve the issue but it didn't. Fast forward to today and two batteries later, the car is dead, because I've been away fro a week, so I used the manual key from the remote control to open the driver side door but the lock won't open. Obviously, I'm now stuck and before calling a locksmith or sending the car to the dealer I was wondering if anyone had some advice on how to get into the car.

Overall, my questions are:
1) What could be causing the batteries on this S80 to go flat so quickly?
2) How do I get in the car if the manual key won't open the lock when turned?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Dunno about the S80s but my VW has a mechanical key inside the fob that can open the door. Check you owners manual to see if there's something similar on the Volvo.

Regarding the battery going flat, you need to measure the parasitic current draw, then isolate what device is not properly turning off. It could be something as simple as a glove box light or vanity light staying on (I had a friend who's issue turned out to be an orange peel in the lighter socket...). With the engine off and key out, put an amp meter between the battery and positive cable and measure. Then start pulling fuses and relays to see which drops the current draw, then figure out what's connected to that circuit. You can pull the fuse for the radio first to see if the sat radio fix actually is doing its job.
