2012 S80 Lurching when put into drive
Alright, I have had my 2012 Volvo S80 3.2L I6 for a couple of months now. When I start the car and I shift from park/neutral into drive and SOMETIMES reverse the car makes a loud clunking noise and lurches/shudders. It only does this once I shift and other than that there are no other noticeable issues with the transmission. Now sometimes when I let the car get the idle RPMS down after starting it, it doesn't shudder but recently it has been doing that 80% of the time. I am assuming the best course of action is to take my car to a garage but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and if they found a fix. I also noticed another thread where someone mentioned a similar issue a year or two back but there was no clear answer as to the fix, and from what I read it came and went and they didn't get it fixed which is similar to what happened to me for a bit. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!

ALRIGHT, for the fix I followed this thread and it solved my issue,
Being a three year old car I doubt there's something wrong with it. Drive the car for a while so that everything is up to operating temperature (gearbox oil needs to be in a certain temperature span for this to work but should be fine if you've driven it for a while). With your foot hard on the brake, put the car in Drive and keep it there for about five seconds. Then put the shifter in neutral and keep it there for another five seconds. Repeat until you've done it five times. Then do another five but with reverse instead of drive.
Basically this should re-learn how your gearbox engages gears: how it engages and how much hydraulic pressure to apply.
