2014 S80 Oil - How Much?
Just changed the oil in my "new to me" 2014 and have a couple of questions:
First - Is there an easier way of removing & replacing the oil filter canister? It is up front & accessible from the top however the oil dip stick as well as the power steering fluid container is in the way. I loosened the dip stick tube and set aside the container but the filter assembly was still too large to remove as a single piece. I ended up taking the filter apart from the housing and extracting both separately - there must be a better way.
Second question is - the owners manual says 7.18 US Quarts - which I replaced after the drain of the old oil. Problem is that 7.18 quarts only brought the level up to the bottom of the dip stick hashed area - meaning I should actually add another quart to bring the level to the top of the hashed area. The tube looks to be in place where it should be. A note: the amount of oil drained seemed in excess of 7 1/2 quarts - I didn't measure it but it seemed excessive. I don't want to over-fill the oil so what do you suggest?
Thanks
