99 S80 Coolant Loss Diagnose
My friend are leaving US, and he would trash the S80 as it has a blown head gasket. I told him I will take care of it. Now I am the owner of it.
Head gasket symptom: Coolant loss due to water came out of tailpipe. Coolant tank smells gas like. Milky engine oil. Miss fire. I am now trying to use gasket sealer to temporarily fix it. When I was flushing the cooling system, I found the driver side carpet was wet: heater core leakage. Moreover, the cooling system seems to be under high pressure, the upper radiator hose was hardly to squeeze when engine was running. Is this normal? I have a 97 850 and been working on it a lot. S80 is a little new to me. Is it similar to fix the heater core as 850? |
The S80 is a little harder for the heater core.
2 things I can think of 1. Thermostat is stuck. 2. The plastic impellers on the water pump broke and there is no circulation. |

That might only be heat from the motor. It is just a thought I have seen a few broken water pumps and thermostats cause the exact same issue.

They are not that bad.

Progress:
Check the spark plug holes. I can see water in No.4. Oil filled No.6. For heater core, I just bypass it right now. Cut the hoses and connect them. Tech, how to disable fuel injector in S80? Just unplug the attached electrical switches? |
Why do you wan them to not work?

Disable the No.4 injector will allow the gasket/block sealer to work. Let it fire will keep sealer from passing through the holes due to combustion gas pressure. Am I right? |
Not sure I do not use that stuff. You can just unplug the injector if you want.

Where can I find replacement hoses that go to the heater core?
