99 s80 hot start problem
 

Hey guys,
I have a 99 s80 T6 that has had some starting issues and was wondering if you'd give me your opinion. I've had the car almost 2 months and first it was slow to start at all times, and almost wont at all when hot. I changed the fuel filter and now it starts cold first try, but once hot, if I shut it off for more than a few minutes it can take up to a few minutes and tries to start, if at all. Also when it starts up it idles very high for a bit till dropping to normal rpm. Seems like its a vapor lock problem and think its most likely the fuel pump to change next. Have seen some posts that maybe its a relay or sensor tho. Wanted an opinion before spending the $150 on the fuel pump and couple hrs of work if its not the problem..Also the temp gauge acts funny and jumps up and down from time to time. Not sure if this is related, completely different, or just how the car acts.
