ABS and STC service lights

I had seen a thread about this before, but the lights came on again. From what I hear, they go hand in hand. I thought that going on a back road and testing the ABS would clear it up, but they went off for a bit, and then came back on (same day) and they remain on. I'm having the codes pulled on tuesday for yet another emissions problem, but is there anything I can do in the meantime to fix the ABS and STC messages and lights? It's a real pain in the butt because I found a buyer for my car, but the lights need to be cleared before he will commit (for good reason). Any help would be appreciated.

The only way they will stay out is to have the ABS module replaced or rebuilt.

I will bet the old one is bad.

My S80 is having the same issue. The ABS warning comes on and goes out intermittently. My vehicle is still under factory warranty, would this module be covered?

Most likely the ABS Module.

My car does this also, I am thinking I will have to send my ABS computer off to get rebuilt. I found a guy in california who will do it for $150 and guarentee his work for 5 years, now I just need to find the computer on the car so I can pull it and send it off.

go to that guy's website, he's got online instructions that are really simple to use. Also he can sell or rent a tool that you need to remove it, it's a hex socket. I recommend it, he rebuilt mine and it works great.

I am going to use this guy, which is the same person you are talking about.

He lists his services on ebay now so you are not just sending your unit off in the dark to someone.

rebuilt stuff

Does your guy rebuild other things, like an odometer speedometer for my Volvo 240 DL?

Old thread :P

I have an 01 s80 t6 and in the past week the abs and stc (tcs) lights have both come on. It makes a grinding noise and feeling in the brake pedal sometimes. It also has the "coolant level low" and "service airbag urgent " what do I need to fix and what can wait? I'm on a tight budget and it's that or a new tranny for my impala. Tia
