AC problem

Since I bought this car in Feb, an 01 S80, the AC has never worked. The dealer told me it was the climate control module. I replaced it, but still no AC. I took it to another repair shop. They tell me it's either the climate control module (again) or something inside the dash. If the relay is bypassed, the AC comes on and blows cold. There's no ground to the compressor.

But they couldn't fix it the same day. On my way home I tried to find a rear brake light problem I've been having. I found one bulb that looked bad and replaced it. But it took out the low beam of my front headlamp. So I switched the lights to the parking lamps instead of DRL's and I forgot to turn them off when I got home. A few hours later, I turn them off, move the car and then find that my dashboard is acting haywire with the needles jumping and warning messages flashing. The climate control is now completely dead. Another shop I called that specializes in Volvos said the battery may have been drained and that it needed to be put on VADIS to fix the software and find the bad ground. But since I was getting it ready for someone who bought the car from me and was waiting for the AC to be fixed, they cautioned that it may not be worth repairing, since whatever it is likely caused the climate control module to go bad.

So, any suggestions on what this "bad ground" may be? Is it worth fixing or sell it for less to someone else and let them deal with it?

RE: AC problem

Charge the battery.
Also with the battery disconnected connect the positive and negative wires together for 5 minutes then reconnect the battery and see if that helps.

Tried it, still the same. Most likely I'll just take it to the auction. At least now I know what it costs to fix all this next time I see a Volvo with these problems.
