Alignment Problems?

I'm new here, and I just purchased two new tires for my S80 today at a Firestone. The tires that needed to be replaced were in the rear, as the two in the front were bought new in late August. I was called back by one of the employees who showed me that the front two tires, particularly the one on the right, were extremely worn. Most of the right front tire was bare. Now, as I said, I just bought these tires in August and have put approx. 13-14,000 miles on the car since then. I don't drive my car particularly hard at all. It obviously points to a serious alignment problem, which the people at Firestone identified.

My issue is that since I bought the car used from a Volvo dealer in Summit, NJ, I have taken it there for regular service. At no time did they mention any alignment issues, although they did do a full check over of the car as recently as Winter, and told me the last two times that the rear tires were due for replacement, but said nothing about the condition of those in the front. Clearly, they either conveniently ignored the fact that the front tires were completely worn, and/or missed the alignment issue in their check-over of the car.

Obviously, I will now have to spend another few hundred on new tires, and I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas on what I could do. I was going to try to bring it to the dealer's attention to see what they could do, but does anyone realistically expect them to give me two free tires? I feel like they are 100% at fault. Sorry for the lengthy post, and thanks in advance for any ideas.

You never know till you try. I would stop by and see what they say.

Well, I already have a service appointment on July 8th so I'll just hold off until then. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't completely off base in blaming them for this. I think it's ridiculous that they didn't notice an alignment problem when they did a full check-over of the car and I've had it in for regular service since I bought it.

My car eats through front tires at about 2-3x the rate of those in the back, if I were to not rotate them. My guess is its because of the engine sitting on them, grinding them into the road harder than the back ones. I just have to make sure they are rotated every/every other time I get my oil changed. My first S80 did this also.

Worn front control arm bushings and lower ball joints are possibly causing abnormal tire wear.I am mine replacing this week.
