alrma siren Where is it?

I have read some posts on the alarm on my S80. It seems that the alarm siren on mine is bad. When I lock the doors it will trigger after about 5 minutes. The siren is very soft and the lights flash normal. I took out the fuse for the siren butthe alarm still triggers.I can't lock the carwithout the alarm going off and I am worried the battry will die. I tried taking the passenger front tire off and looking under the cover, is this the place for the siren module?

RE: alrma siren Where is it?

It is behind the inner fender on the passenger side(U/S passenger side)
You have to drill the rivets out where the inner fender meets the front bumper. Then when you get to the siren you have to cut a groove in the stock bolt or use a center punch and hammer to loosen the screw to change it out.

Also after a new one is in it really should be configured.

Thanks, I did what you said but did not take the inner fendor completely out. It looked like the window washer bottle was the only thing in front of the fender. How large is the siren module. I'll rip the inner fendor out again tonight.

It is about the size of an aftermarket alarm siren. It is up higher and back a little more than you were looking.

YEAH I found it and fixed it. Thanks for help in locating the siren module, it really is tucked up in the fender well. My alarm has given me trouble since I bought the car new. The dealer never could fix it, claimed it was going off cause of my IPASS. Opened the little box and found the nicd battery leaking all over. Cleaned it up, got a battery for a cordless phone (same 3.6v 600mah) from BestBuy, soldered it in and presto. No more trouble with false alarms. Thanks Again! I might just try replacing both belts now.Timing and drive belts.:)
