Anything special to know about doing an engine change? (not conversion 2.9 -> 2.0)
Whoops, title should be 2.9 to 2.9 My fat fingers pushed the wrong button...
So I picked up my used motor from Advance Auto Parts. It has a 1 year warranty, and I'm replacing the timing belt, tensioner, water pump and obviously spark plugs, oil and filter. Tranny filter and fluid., Anything else I should change while the engine/transmission is out of the car? Anything special about doing the swap? These aren't just a honda civic after all... am I going to have to have anything re-programmed? Or should it literally be plug and play? |
Plug and play.
also do the rear main seal. |
Yep forgot to mention the rear main seal. Advance didnt have it so Im going to have to order it from rockauto.

Hmmm... Big price difference. Which one to buy?

Stay away from Orange seals they cause alot of trouble. Check with your local dealer they might be cheaper than the expensive one on the site.
