Brake hose replacement
 

Need to replace cracked hoses on 2000 S80. Lines appear to be in good condition but I can't get the junction of the flex line and the metal line to seperate, even with PB. I did not remove the mounting bracket as it doesn't appear this needs to be done so long as you are working to loosen the fitting on the metal line side. Have I got it wrong or am I missing something? Any tricks to emply?

I would let it sit with PB on it for a couple of days. They can be a major PITA at times.

You bet they are a pain to remove! I have done it many times and have yet to have either an SAE or metric separate as it is suppose to. One important word of caution that TECH did not state (although I know he forgot to) is that you HAVE to use the appropriate wrench to unfasten the and that is a flare wrench. If you simply use metric open end wrenches (or god forbid) a pair of vise grips you are looking for a major mondo re-do!

Okay, so I've screwed something else up. Should I cut it off and use a new nut?
