Cat Problems!
 

So a few weeks ago i had an emission systems warning pop up on dash and me and my brother deduced that a failed catalytic converter is responsible. i have a 99 s80 with a t6 and ive heard that the catalytic converter is "part of" the turbo downpipe and i was curious as to if it is possible to get a turbo downpipe without a cat on it? or what are my other options? whats going on?

What was the diag code? P0420?

Go to a muffler shop and have them cut the old one off and weld a new universal cat.

I just changed mine myself on my 2000 T6. It was a piece of cake to do really. Bought it from Autopartswarehouse.com. It lists on their site for 386 minus a $30 coupon code I found and free shipping. Not too bad really for an aftermarket, I haven't had any problems since I installed a month ago. It's only 49 state legal in case you're in California though.
