Check Engine Light
2000 S80 T6: I was getting the ABS/STC fail intermittenly for a while and at some point the Check Engine light came on and stayed on, then ABS/STC was coming on every day. I Had the ABS module rebuilt and the ABS/STC has not come back but Check Engine is still on. Took the car to Autozone and they read codes P0036, P0134 andP0136, he said he is not allowed to clear the codes. My question is, is it possible that clearing the codes will reset the Check Engine light and can this be done by anyone with a scanner? Any other thoughts?
Thanks |
RE: Check Engine Light
Most scanners will clear the codes.
Try another Auto Zone and tell them you think the codes were from the ABS module being bad which you just replaced. |
RE: Check Engine Light
yea i always get mine cleared at autozone.. they always give the "well we cant do that" so i just say ok check my codes and ILL hit the erase button.. they always let me... sometimes they just give me the computer and i go do it my self..

RE: Check Engine Light
not sure about p0036, but p0134 and p0136 are o2 codes, and the p0036 probably has something to do with o2 as well

RE: Check Engine Light
Thanks for the reply/advice. Went back to Autozone and had the codes cleared but Check Engine came back after about 5 miles.
I'm thinking of going back and see if the codes are still the same as they were not cleared after I replaced the ABS Module. |
