Check Engine Light Small Evap Leak
 

Hello all,
My first post here. These forums have helped me out a lot and saved me a lot of money, so thank you. I have a 2007 S80 3.2 that has a CEL on. I took it to the local auto parts store to have a test run and it came back as a small evap system leak. I ordered and replaced the gas cap but apparently that wasn't the problem. After reading through some of the other threads it sounds like the problem could be the J-hose and/or the purge valve on the carbon canister. I would much rather try to fix this myself as I'm sure a dealership will want to charge me a lot for labor. My question is where on this model is the carbon canister located, and what's the best way to access it? I've read in some places that it could be under the front passenger side wheel well, and others say it is in the back above the muffler. Anyone know for sure where it would be before I start tearing the car apart? Thanks in advance for any advice.

My 2004 s80 is hesitant when I accelerate I changed my air filter thinking that was the prob... my check engine light is now on and blinks if I accelerate hard in motion... if you can give me some insite would be gratefully appreciated....

I haven't come across this issue in my S80. I was able to fix my CEL. It was an issue with the J-hose. Do your spark plugs need replacing?
