Code p0300 Random miss
I have a 2000 S80, My wife started out with it the other morning and it was running rough, by the time she got home with it it would hardly run. I pulled the codes and got code p0300, p0100, and p0101, I replaced the MAF sensor, the plugs and 1 ignitition coil the plug for cylinder 4 looked fouled, I also cleaned the throttle body. The car runs good driving down the road but has a rough idle setting still, the lights also pulsate what am I missing?

RE: Code p0300 Random miss
Are the coils cracked?
|
RE: Code p0300 Random miss
No I've checked the coils for cracks.
|
RE: Code p0300 Random miss
Maybe one of the plugs are bad or a coil could still be bad.
|
RE: Code p0300 Random miss
I'm picking up 2 more coils in the morning.
|
RE: Code p0300 Random miss
Hopefully that will fix it.

RE: Code p0300 Random miss
I changed out 2 more of the coils took it on a 20 min. test drive it ran great no problems got it home let it idle in the garage no problems, shut it off started it right back up and it started to idle rough and is doing the same thing it was before I changed the coils. Could this be a fuel issue?

RE: Code p0300 Random miss
Possible but I doubt it.
Same code and only that code? |
RE: Code p0300 Random miss
The car has been setting since 11:00 this morning, I just started it and it is running smooth if I take for a test drive turn it off and restart it, it will idle rough? I just rechecked the codes and now I have code p0011, and code p0300.

RE: Code p0300 Random miss
Was the timing belt recently done?
|
RE: Code p0300 Random miss
I put a new belt on 16 months ago.

RE: Code p0300 Random miss
OK then maybe the VVT reset valve on the top of the cam cover is bad.
