Here are the codes from VADIS: (no listing for P0455 & P0488)

RE: Codes Pulled Again - PLZ Help Tech
Thanks for the info. That's pretty much what I got from the print out also. I am wondering what I need to do to fix them? I am guessing (haven't checked yet) that a new cat would be expensive. Should I go the hillbilly way and take them offf and try to bang all the stuff out or cut-em and run straight through? I don't think that is legal but that would not be my main concern. I just wouldn't want the car to sound loud like a 16 year old ricer Civic driver or anything. Also would this throw more codes if I ran stright through? Any and all thoughts and suggestions welcome. BTW, where in Vadis do I put in the trouble codes to get information? Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Here's what the other two are showing from the Autozone readout. P0448 Says: The PCM has determined that a short circuit condition exists in the electrical circuit for the vent control in the evaporative emission control system. P0455 Says: The PCM has determined that a large leak exists in the evaporative emission control system. |
RE: Codes Pulled Again - PLZ Help Tech
The evap valve might be bad.
Also check for a vaccum leak. |
RE: Codes Pulled Again - PLZ Help Tech
ORIGINAL: tech The evap valve might be bad. Also check for a vaccum leak. Where is the evap valve? Another newbie question. How do I check fora vaccumleak? Should I check the retun lines for leaks. I am going to buy a new gas cap but that would probably just be luck if that's all it were. |
