Does Manual Boost Control work on 2009 S80 2.5FT?
 

Hello all,

I am trying to increase the performance of my S80 2009 2.5ft. Been upgrading Exhaust, down pipe, Polestar remap.

Now I recently came across Manual Boost control, which is very interesting to me.:eek: I am not very sure how does it work but from my guess is, it is leaking the pressure from the waste gate measurement line trying to trick the ECU that they have not reached the desire boost pressure just yet (but the boost is actually at the level that it should be released into the engine bay already) causing the Standard turbo with normal ECU setting to build up more pressure. Then when the pressure that the ECU is measuring reaches the stage, it will release the over(over normal) boost into the engine. Am I right?:confused:

Now I have been consulting with the garage that I have been doing my MOD. they said Manual Boost Control would be useless because the ECU is controlling, but they didn't specify what did the ECU control. Now The question I would like to ask are:

1) Will Manual Boost Control work on 2009 S80 2.5FT?
2) Will there by any mechanical or electrical control that prevent me from raising the boost with the manual control? i.e. device that measure the over normal activities (Pressure) inside the Combustion chamber?
3) If there is any way around to increase the performance of the car, please give some suggestion.
