I have a 2000 S80 T6 w/75K. When I park the vehicle (cutting the wheel kinda hard) it dies for no reason. This has happened twice. It runs awesome with no signs of disarray.

Sign of ETM trouble.

Mine surges and dies every time I put the car into park after engine hot (drive, park, and die). When I start it up again it does the same thing. The only way for me to get going is to press the brake, release parking brake, start engine, put it into gear right away before it surges and die. When in driving position, it does not dies, but surges when I come to stop light or when I coast after acceleration.

Seems to me, the engine wants to stay above 1000rpm, when it hits 1000rpm, it surges up. If it stay up, then it stops surging, but if it comes back down, then it surges more heavily then dies.

 

I don't experience the extent of the problem you describe. I'll keep an eye on it and go from there.

 

Could very well be throttle body related.
They will usually idle lower then die under the turn ETC.

 

It was the Mass Airflow Meter Sensor. I posted in the surging thread.
