Emission service needed, odd question....
 

Hey all--

So as i live in the rocky mountains of Colorado, I went skiing the other day in my 99 S80 2.9. While sitting in traffic for 2 hours on a 7% grade hill, my engine started running a little rough. That would happen until traffic would move enough for the engine to get off of idle where the engine would smooth out again. Well close to the end of the 2 hours, my check engine light came on with the display reading "emission service needed".

After driving it around yesterday, the message disappeared after the 5th startup, but maybe someone has some insight into why that was happening? Or if i should be taking any precautionary steps to not this happen in the future. (i.e. new coils from ipd?)
