Fog lamp questions for S80/S40
Ok, I have a question for both the S40 and S80 we have, both have buttons that indicate there are fog lamps of sorts in these cars, however I do not see fog lamps on either car, but the dash in both cars has the indicator lamp that turns on so im wondering are there supposed to be fog lamps and if so how can I tell if the wireing is already there, ect? I would like to put fog lamps in both cars if the provisions are already there and i can just plug and play.
thanks for the help! |
Do you have two switches? If there's just one switch, it's for the rear fog light. I may be wrong but I think the rear fog light is standard while the front fog lights are optional. If you do have the front fog light switch, the wires will be in the vicinity of the fog light cut out. You can test it by turning the ignition on, turn the headlight switch on the push in the fog light switch. Use a test light or meter on the wiring harness to see if there's power.

rear fog lamps??? where exactly would these be on either car, I don't recall seeing any additional fog lamps on either car...

Disco is right, the rear fog light (located in the driver's side taillight only) is standard. The front fog lights do no have a light that comes on on the gauge cluster to indicate they are on.

They are built into the rear light-assembly pod. If yours does not work chances are the bulb is gone/burnt out. Usually only one light on the rear-drivers side although some people add a second bulb on the rear-passenger side. |
ok, ill check thecars to see if they light up, and go from there I suppose thanks guys and gals!!
