front end noise
2000 s80 that has had the struts, bushings, strut mounts, sway bar links, ball joints and tie rod ends replaces is still making a noise in the front end. It seems to be more noticable when turning left and expecially after you have backed the car up in reverse. Could it be a sway bar problems or subframe mount (they looked good)?
Thanks |
RE: front end noise
Could be control arm bushing,Subframe bushings.

RE: front end noise
I checked the control arm bushings (even had new ones on hand just in case). As for the sub frame bushings they are still centered and look to be in good shape. What is the proper way to check the subfrome bushing? Sway bar?
Thank you Chris |
RE: front end noise
The subframe bushings are kind of hard to check. If you can remove the Bolts one at a time and inspect the bushing.
Also I will have to try to find the bulletin if it is still around and see if it fits within installing o-rings between the subframe in the Rear for a noise. The sway bar will have play in it if the bushings/End links are bad. |
RE: front end noise
I will try and check the subframe mounts when the rains stops. Also, I will chekc the sway bar. Where do I obtain the O-rings for the mounts?
Thank you Chris |
RE: front end noise
From the Dealer.
They would go between the subframe and the body on the rear bushings only. |
