Front end noise when going overbumps?
 

I have an S80 with 90,000 on it that I just bought from a reputable local dealer. They included the sticker on the car that showed a 3000 mile/ 3 month warranty. Dealer pays 100% of parts and labor, however I don't know what is covered????

I am hearing when I go over bumps noise in the front of the car which sounds like struts? I think it is anyway, I traded a Chrysler Sebring on this car that I replaced the struts in that a month ago for $1000!!!!! My fear is or at least I hope these would be covered?? The dealer is a top notch dealer and its local and ran mostly by word of mouth. I was sent to them this very way.

So, my question is, is it normal to hear some noise in the front of these cars? More like a rougher ride over bumps? The car handles like a dream and the tires are Dunlop all weather performance tires so I know they ride a little rougher. They are low profile compared to a normal tire?

Can anyone offer any insight to these type of warranties?

Check the strut mounts.
If you are still under warrenty..then it should be covered.

I would say either spring seats or sway bar end links.

Well thanks guys! Very helpful info. I called my dealer today and they said bring it in with no worries. They are even giving me another car to get to work!!!!! Awesome guys. I just hope it's fixed right.

Its going in Monday for repairing on Tuesday. I will keep you all posted on the outcome.

Well the dealer had the car today. It needs Tie Rod linkage and sway bar linkage? I presume they are bushings possibly? Either way they gave me a new car as a loaner and are paying 100% parts and labor? What does something like that run usually in the states? Just curious?

Either way the parts are ordered from a Volvo dealer and next week they will be replaced at no cost to me! AWESOME!

Cool...Not sure what that would cost...I never go to a dealer:D.
I just order the parts and put them on.
Tie rods and endlinks dont have bushing on that car..Both use ball joints.
Tie rods should look like this:

It usually costs a pretty penny for it.

Inspect all rubber suspension components that are subject to movement,lower control arm bushings,sway bars,tie-rods,strut mounts,etc.Replace parts on both sides of vehicle even if one part shows no signs of wear or damage,thismaintains your vehicles functional integrity-even tire wear,brake component life, handiling and ride quality. Also,anytime suspension componets are replaced have your tires and alignment (front and rear) checked.

I just had to replace all 4 of my tie - rods and a wheel bearing, (thanks to everyone here that helped me figure that out). I would go to an Import car parts store buy the parts there and then take it to Goodyear or another place to put them in. If you go to Volvo (from my experience) they want to charge a lot for it. I got mine done for little over $800 that is including labor, parts, and an alignment. So I would shop around before you go back to Volvo that is if you cannot get it for free.
