Got a oil leak! Cant find it!

I have a 2001 S80 T6.
I jacked the car up, got under it and looked for the oil leak. But i don't think its the oil return line cause, the oil is all over the the wastegate area and a little towards the driver side and under the cold side of the turbo. One of the things that is confusing is that the oil is on a couple different hose lines in that area.
I started the car and went under it and looked again but it seems that it only leaks when the oil pressure is up and I'm driving.

It leaked out 2qt in 5 min not even getting on it.
HELP!!! What else could it be

Is it by the back of the head drivers side?
Maybe a cam seal blew out.

I took another look and had my friend bring over more oil and it took 3qt, so i started it up and 2 min later, it started to leak. But i found the leak i think its coming out of the crank pulley seal.
I believe the oil is leaking out of the seal and running down the block.

But i just don't see how that oil got from that part of that engine to the back

I also have an oil leak and I can't track down where it it is coming from... the leak doesn't seem to be as bad as vegast6 however the bottom of the oil pan does seem to be covered. Can anybody tell me where to look or where to start to look for the oil leak here are some Pics

Regards,
shopower

I said before that i found the leak, but wouldn't the timing belt be covered in oil if it was the crank seal?

Have you checked the oil return line or the oil trap under the intake manifold

shopower 01-04-2011 04:26 PM

no I have not checked these items... not even sure where to look? Do you have any pics or a shop manual that has a diagram?

drop down the splash shield and go under the car look up through the rear of the engine (backside) you will see the turbo and all the lines coming from it

Probably a plugged up crankcase vapor separator.

where is the crankcase vapor separator on the motor

I maybe just went through this on our 2000 S80. Someone can verify this but I believe the oil trap acts as a PCV system allowing harmful vapor and pressure to escape from certain engine areas. If it gets clogged, as happens easily on this car, the vapor pressure overcomes the basic oil pressure and oil is forced out anywhere it can, usually from several sources. Oil sludge will also build up if this is not fixed. If this is the case, cleaning the trap should fix it, but a clogged trap should lead you to do an external oil pressure test, other parts of the oil pump system will likley need servicing as well.
