Head screw can't open (S80 2001 2.0T)

Hello to everyone...i must say...dat this is the BEST volvo forums ever. M new to volvo cars. Previously i was driving a Mitsubishi EVO 3 equipped with a 340bhp. I sold it to a car lover as its time to move on &let go. So i just bought a silver color S80 2.0T July 2001 model. The car has already run for about 121,000km by the previous owner. Now m in the process of doing the top overhaul of the engine. M facing this problem i.e i can't take out the 12 screws of the head gasket. It seems to be locked very tight. M afraid if i force to unscrew it......it will damaged the screw or worst still....it will break the engine head. Has anyone of you ever been in this type of situation & how do you overcome it...worst case senario...if the engine head crack....gosh! Looks like i have to source for an empty engine block & this will cause me a BOMB. Pls help

Gosh Tech,
I've no confidents at all of forcing to unscrew the 12 head screws. I'll fix everything back as the engine head still looks good & clean. I'll run it for another year or two...in the meantime i'll get the whole timing belt set change including all oil seals, gaskets, o rings. alternator belt...etc...etc

Hello Tech,
Guess what, my engine valve burn i think coz the car is jerking and the engine is vibrating. I managed to run the dianostic and it mentioed that ignition coil number one got some problem. I've changed the coil and spark plugs...and it is still jerking. Engine rpm is stable. Its been more than a year oredi that i did not force open the engine head screw. Now i am ready to do it. Can you pls sent me a picture of the tool that can open the 12 screws of the engine head. I know its a silly question but i need help here. Awaiting for your soonest reply

You need to get a long breaker bar. One like this. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=30395 You might also have to add a pipe to extend it to get them loose.
