Hissing Noise
There has been a subtle hissing noise that I can hear in the cabin since I bought my 2.9 L in July, but lately it has become high pitched and annoying. When I open up the hood I can hear a hissing around the airbox. I replaced the connectors to it and that did not solve it. I also recently discovered that the airbox seems slightly warped and I can see the edges of the filter. Is there any possibility that the leak can be attributed to this? Sorry for asking a dumb question, but my car saavy family seems to be of no use to me on this.

Look where the steering shaft goes through the floor board. There is a rubber grommet in the floor. There is a metal sleeve that slides in between the boot and the shaft. Make sure the sleeve has not come out of the boot.

Thankyou for responding. it does not look like the shaft is out of the boot to me.

If it is out spray a little silicone spray on the boot and slide the collar back into the boot.

After fiddling around with the boot, I turned the car on and still a hissing while driving and after. SO i looked down there again while it was still hissing and played around with the plunger thing that goes into the break booster. It seems to be what is creating the hissing noise.
