hissing noise at brake pedal...
Hi there,
I just notice this recently, sometime when i step on the brakes brifely and let go (like in traffic jam). there's a faint hissing noise coming from my brake pedal, but if i step on the brake pedal the noise stops until i let go again....on the other hand, if i step on the pedal really hard then let go, the noise stops completely. sounds like somthing leaking?? and there's no noticeble different in braking performance and distance.... weird[&:] FYI: I got my brakes serviced in Nov last year: new brake pads all around, drain, fill and bleed system with dot 4 fluid. Any help will be greatly appreciated Dan |
RE: hissing noise at brake pedal...
The diaphram in the brake booster is bad.You will need to have the brake booster replaced.

RE: hissing noise at brake pedal...
brake booster... is that the same as brake cylinder??? how much $$$ is that?? can i do it myself??
As of this morning, there's no noise coming from the pedal, and i'm stuck in traffic every morning... will this eventually affect my brake performance?? |
RE: hissing noise at brake pedal...
The brake booster and master cylinder are diffrent things. If you have patiance you can do it.It is a pain you have to disconnect the battery and move the front fuse box.
