how do i know if the whips deployed
so i got rear ended (again!!!!) in the s80 the other day. it wasn't too hard, i was actually driving & the guy behind me was going too fast in the rain & wasn't able to stop. It needs work on the bumper, but i was wondering if there's any way that you can visualy tell if the WHIPS system deployed? i know on saab's the head rests pop out, do these do the same?
thanks, veso |
RE: how do i know if the whips deployed
Hi there,
I'm not sure if there is anything left "deployed" that would show as evidence, but something tells me that the ECU probably stores a code when WHIPS is triggered. Try taking it to a shop and have the codes checked. |
RE: how do i know if the whips deployed
Im sure if the impact was hard enough it would make the SRS airbag message come on?

RE: how do i know if the whips deployed
If the whips was actived I believe the seat would be leaning back.
There is a pin that is designed to break when it works properly. |
