How do you turn off a service transmission message??
I just changed the pressure, shift and lock up solenoids on my 99 s80 t6 and the service transmission message is still on. When I checked the codes the first time the solenoid codes came up saying something was wrong with the parts I just replaced. Then I drove the car around the block and it went into "limp mode". I cleared the codes and drove it again. This time it drove fine but the service transmission message came up again. My question, is there a procedure that you have to do to "teach" the computer the new parts and then the message will go away or do I have to take it to the dealer and pay another $100 to clear it or get a computer update?
Thanks for your time. John |
It won't learn, it needs to be reset and that is assuming that you corrected the problem and that there's something else not impacting the transmission that is showing a by-product code.

Ok. Can I reset it with a generic code reader or does the dealer have to do it?
Thank you for the last post. John |
I don't think this is something that can be done with a basic code reader.
