an interesting problem
 

I have a very weird problem two days ago my 2000 Volvo s80 t6 was starting but my engine was idling really hard i checked the computer for codes and i got camshaft sensor and solenoid errors also a misfire in cylinder #1. A couple of hours later the car would not start it would crank but not fire up also tried a jump start(did nothing) any one got any ideas.

Did you clear the codes and try starting it again?

well the interesting part is the battery died and needed a charge so there is no codes on the system and still wont start im thinking between cam shaft sensor and the starter (had the breaks changed at sears earlier in the week and they need to jump start my car for some reason)

If the motor turns over the starter is good.
Do you have spark?
Do you have injector pulse?
Do you have fuel pressure?

found out my timing belt is loose. maybe it jumped!

Check the idler and tensioner pulley if it jumped I will bet the valves are bent.

dam that means i need to rebuild the engine then do u know were i can get a kit from google does not show any links

Just pull the head and have it redone or find a used head and install it.

But before you order the head you need to see if you have a hydrolic lifter or solid lifter head.

the mechanic working on my car said that there might be a chance that the valves have not been hit yet

well i got my car back almost no damage done:) the only thing is that i have a slight bent valve in cylinder 1 hopefully it straitens out thanks for all the help tho

It will not straighten on its own.
Drive it till it causes a permanent misfire.

if i have the cylinder heads replaced do they have to touch anything on the timming belt also when i got the car back the center control were the air condition controles are is not working alond with the sun roof.

They need to remove the timing belt to replace the head.

ok so thats been my problem all along i need to find that tool that is needed when the timing belt is taken off or replaced

No what you would need to make sure all is right is called a cam lock tool that locks the back side of the cam.

But if they removed the VVT pulley from the cam and did not mark it then that is a whole different story.

But if they did not remove the pulley then just make sure all the marks are lined up and you will be fine.
