just an oil change and now smoking???
just did an oil change on my 2000 t6 s80 and now after it is running for a while, only while it is sitting still it burns oil. i think i could have over filled the oil just a tad. will this cause it to burn oil? or is this a sign of piston blow by? i used mobil 1 synthetic 10w30. it is different than the last oil i used.. could this be the problem???

RE: just an oil change and now smoking???
I'm fairly sure that its not the oil thats causing the problem, its generally agreed that Mobil 1 is one of the best syn oils on the market..
I would check out the dipstick to see quite how much extra oil you put, and if its over the full mark, drain it to a more reasonable level.. |

Check the vent system very common to clog and cause car to smoke.

Did you clean the Bango fitting that screws to the intake? Was the small hose clear?

RE: just an oil change and now smoking???
yes it was.. all squeaky clean. i did take it to the shop today to replace a bulb, install post cat oxygen sensor extenders and found that i was over a half a quart of oil over.. so i drained it and got it to level. havent noticed burning oil since but havent driven much either....
