key fob, unlock doors no-op, newbie!!
 

hi, im new here, looks like some great posts on here.
my ?
the key fob for a 2001 S80 does not unlock/lock the doors, but the light pops on. so the car is receiving the signal, but the doors dont unlock. stealer wants to replace the drivers door module. sounds like the correct fix, but they want 500 (lame). can you get the door module out without taking the door panels off? does it just pop up and out?
Second ? - i see a used door module on ebay for 45 bucks. assuming it works (willign to take chance for 45 bucks), does it need to be 'reprogrammed' or will it just work when its plugged in?

Not sure if a used one will work it will need to be programmed.
I have always been told used ones wont program.
But they might.
