Lock/Unlock
 

Hey there,

I'm new to the forum and have a quick question. I have a 2001 S80 with about 126,000 miles. Today I went to unlock my car with my key fob and my car would not unlock. I thought it might have been a battery issue with my fob, but now I don't think it is. Further research indicated that I can lock my car with the key itself, my key fob, and with the lock/unlock button near the window controls. I can not unlock my car with the key fob or the button near the window controls. The only way I can unlock my car is with the key itself. I am completely stumped. I know almost nothing about the mechanics of Volvos. If anyone has a solution, might they know how much it might cost to fix it? A side note: my left rear passenger door locks only about 95% of the time with the fob. Thanks.

Try pressing several times to get a reaction. Mine is now responding to 3 clicks of the button rather than the normal 1 click.
Also, cycle the door lock with the key 3-5 times to see if it resets.

rear door will not open
 

Hi, couldn't find where to insert a new thread so I am attaching my question to yours. my rear door lock will not open using the remote, the buttons on all doors lift and all appears well but the nearside rear door will not open at all. Please can anyone help.

could be the door actuator be broken? i would guess that

The nearside rear door on my 2005 S60 T refuses to open no matter what I try, all the buttons on the doors lift and the other three doors work fine but this rear door just will not move. The main problem is that with the door permanently closed like this I am unable to remove the inner covering to inspect any linkages etc. hidden behind it. Help desperately required !!!!!!!

what about child lock be activated.but that would mean you could still open from outside...hmm well can you still pry open the inside door handle. its has one screw ..remove that and try wiggling the door handle (inside). i think the cable is broken or something.
