Low Oil Pressure / Oil Light on Right Hand Turns

Volvo Experts....I need help with a situation!

I own a 2001 S80 T6 with 117K miles that recently has been displaying a low oil pressure code and oil light during sweeping right hand turns (i.e. highway cloverleaf exits or where I am going more than, say, 15 mph beforehand). This phenomenon does not happen during left hand turns at all and not during slow turns, and the oil light warning goes away immediately once I continue straight.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Does the idle dip low when turning right?
You might need to replace the oil pump pickup tube o-ring and the pan o-rings.

Im not a volvo expert at all yet, but Ive been elbow deep in many other cars. This may be a rather silly suggestion, but sometimes people forget to check this. Have you checked the oil level ? Because on my 97 M3, if the oil level got barely low, it would have trouble picking up in high speed turns because the oil would run away from the pickup area. So while your oil level may not be low enough to set off a sensor/warning sitting still, it may on a particular turn. Like I said, Im new to volvo, so I wouldnt know if volvo had really good oil pans with baffles that stop this kind of thing, or who knows what, but I would first check the oil level and more on from there.

That's what happens in my Eclipse as well - slightly low oil level causes the light to go off around the long turns as the oil sloshes to the "wrong" side.
