It sure looks like you have more than one engine torn apart!

Did you blow the head gasket?

Just curious why you would do a complete tear down.

Were the rings bad?

RE: my 2002 s80 t6 project, rebuilding motor

i did this because previos owner did not change oil on time and used cheap oil, engine have alot of sludgeinside and cooked oil that cloged small holes inside motor, valve stemseals went bad and 2 turbos ,,i'm changing piston ring because i'm already there ,nothink wrong with piston rings just wana changethem, car have 101,000 miles on it. in all turbo cars i recomend to use' fully synthetic oil' and change your oil on time,if you want your turbos to last , turbos for s80 are very expencive if you gona get them new... synthetic iol alot cheaper then turbos,or you will change your turbosalot sooner if you use regular oil, thats my thinking.feel free to add your coment

I've seen good results with a good non-synthetic as long as the oil and filter are chenged every 3k. We used to see a bunch of lease return cars in this condition, even before out of warranty.

Good Luck with the engine.
