need recommendation for diagnostic/reset tool
 

Volvo 2000 S80 2.8L T6..
Looking for a tool to reset the SRS service message, would be nice if it had additional features such as code readout. Followed VADIS instructions to reset CD mechanism in radio, required battery to be connected while plug was pulled out of radio which caused SRS message to be set.

I searched about 8 hours and found 2 tools on line.
One is FT-Elektronik service reset tool which will not display codes but can erase SRS code. Costs about $190 and is available in the US from several sources.

Other is a BSR PPC . #503050

This tool will display codes and reset them as well. Costs about $210 USD but seams to be only available from overseas sources. BSR website says this is compatible with 1999-2006 S80 but on line literature says only compatible 2001-2006.

Does anyone have any experience with this BSR tool and how did it work?

Does anyone know of other tools which can be used to reset codes and cost less than $200 and will work with a 2000 S80?

Wife just bought me an Actron for Christmas. So far I like it fine. Not sure how much it cost.

I went with the PPC BSr unit. I am very happy with this scanner and thought it was money well spent.
It pulled a throttle code error and I knew that the dealer would have to replace the throttle at their expense. Without this unit, I never would have known about this potential issue as the CEL never lit.
It also reset the SRS error with the touch of a button.
I bought mine off of EBay and with a discounted price after using "Live Search' which gave me a 20% discount. Depending on the season the discount ranges from 3% to 20%.

I also have an Actron scanner which is great for monitoring the engine computer but will not work with the other control units in the Volvo.
I have not been able to find the BSR PPC diagnostic tool in the US or on EBAY.
May have to buy direct from manufacture.
