Need some advice if anyone is willing or has any info?

Today my ABS "Brake Faliure" light came on in my 2004 T6. The cruise stopped working and the odometer. After doing some reading it's a the tell tail sign of the ABS module.

I see many people online stating they opted to have it rebuilt. I'm thinking about used possible pulled from a low miles car if possible? My only question is this, if I buy the same model used, do I need to have anything downloaded from the dealer in line of software or such?

I heard of others rebuilding their units and due to so, they never needed any update or codes put back in. If I do this myself, can anyone suggest what the dealer would charge to download new codes or such?

Any links to any good sites anyone can recommend for rebuild or purchases on these units..

Thanks all,
Spankey

Also I totally forgot to mention!
I just had new lower control arms put on the car, new right axle boot and right front caliper? Possible sensor movement or damage from repairs? Oddly enough after having all this work done, about three day's later the ABS "Brake Failure" pops up.......

Secondly, and this is the weird part. I live in Eastern PA and its starting to get cold. When the temp outside is cold, say below the 40's....The ABS failure is gone. The cruise works and the odometer. As soon as it warms up outside or the car gets hot under the hood, then the failure comes up. It comes and goes with temps!

Any ideas? I'd like to check and possibly clean the sensors at the wheels however I have no idea what I'm looking for and what to use on them? Any suggestions or links?
Thanks and sorry.

As for the temperature issue, it sounds like the computer is running hot, and may be time to have it rebuilt. There are places on the internet and a few threads in this forum that have companies that rebuild abs modules. The abs sensor can't really be cleaned. They are however easy to replace. If you want to check it out, you need to remove the wheel, you may be able to get to it without removing the brake rotor but to get a clear look at it you need to take the caliper and rotor off. You will see a wire that goes ibto the hub carrier, that's your sensor.

And any of the suspension repairs you said could have nicked the abs wire, I suggest you take it back to where you had work done to it
