New member with just purchased 99 S80 T6
 

Just wanted to start off by saying hello. I just purchased a 1999 S80 T6. Has high miles at 223k but overall good. I do have a few issues and can't find anything to help from here as of yet so I would like to post them and see if I can figure out what to do.

1. The starter sounds like the solidoid is staying on after starting. Some times it doesn't but most the time it does. I bought a remanned starter and installed it but when I went to start the car I could hear the starter engage but would not turn the motor over. Put the old starter back in and works.

2. Headlight low beams just started acting up. Searched here and found about the little spade thingy in the kick panel. Pulled it out and saw one of the connectors looked burnt as well as where it connects. Almost like it popped and fried there. I can jiggle it and get the headlights to work but that will get old fast if I have to keep doing that. Will a new spade thing from dealer work or should I try replacing the whole fuse box thing?

3. When I first got the car all the interior lights worked fine. The rear view mirror was bad. All black. I found a good one at a local you pull it junk yard and replaced it. Now the lights don't work half the time. I checked the fuse and it felt like it was secure in the spot and it wasn't burnt out. When I put the fuse back in the lights started working again. A little while later I noticed that they stopped working so I pulled the fuse and put it back in again and they worked once more. Is there an underlying problem that I am not aware of or is it just possible that the fuse isn't seated right so it isn't always getting connection?

Any help I could get would be greatly appreciated. I got the car cause we only had one vehicle up till then and my wife has dr appointments for her and our infant daughter and the only way for her to use the truck was if she woke up extra early to take me to work and then come pick me back up. That was a pain for her in general but even more so since she had to get our daughter up and in the car seat both times.

Like I said, for the most part the car is great but just these three main issues are starting to annoy me. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
