Noise in Front End and Steering Problem
HI,
I have a 2004 S80 with 70K (interstate miles). Lately, I have heard a clanking noise under the front end when I go over a rough road. Also, there is no play in my steering column but while I'm driving, I feel like I'm all over the road, like I'm swearving back and forth. Any ideas, suggestions, so forth would be appreciated. I hate to have to spend mega bucks at the dealers if I don't have to. Thanks! |

Most common things to cause that noise.
Sway bar end links Front or Rear. Spring Seats front. |

Thanks for the info.
Any ideas about the steering problem. Its like the tires are not steady! |
RE: Noise in Front End and Steering Problem
Are the tire pressures correct?
What kind of tires are on it? It could also feel like that from the worn suspension parts. |
RE: Noise in Front End and Steering Problem
The Tire Pressure is ok, I have checked this.
I put new tires on Goodyear 17" about 6 months ago. Soon after that is when I began hearing the knocking sound. The steering has just become an issue within the last 2 months. Thank you for your help! |
RE: Noise in Front End and Steering Problem
Check/replace those parts first.
You might also have worn Lower Control arm bushings causing the swaying. You can have then inspected while checking the other parts. |
