for those who are searching this thread like years after i posted this - yes the boost sensor was the culprit, so if you are sitting at a red light and all the sudden your rpm dips down once or twice, or if you are getting a jerky pedal reaction upon acceleration accompanied with slight vibration along with the code P0237 then yes - this is the sensor to change for sure, car feels like new now, got all my power back, lots of torque, i go up hills at 1500 - 1700 rpm @ 80 Km/h. i think the sensor can be cleaned, cause after i took it out and saw the little hole that can easily plug up with dirt and oil its kinda obvious, i think this has been happening for a while and i have always felt some slight rpm dips and jerkiness that is now gone...

gordon368 11-20-2009 10:24 AM

mine is at the shop as we speak right now

andrei3333 11-20-2009 11:14 PM

^for...?

gordon368 11-21-2009 05:43 PM

for this very code p00237. How much is the part usually?

tech 11-21-2009 06:02 PM

Sorry somehow I missed this post.

andrei3333 11-21-2009 08:30 PM

its ok you cant get to them all, it was frustrating , but i think its all good now
the part is about $135 canadian + tax at the dealer, i tried searching like 6 different websites and noone of them had it in stock,

i got a discount atthe dealer cause the guy was nice, i got it for 110 + tax, online i think its about 80-100 canadian

the sensor is in an easy location to change but it still gave me trouble at the plastic clips that hold it are so friggin tight it took me almost an hour to change, but at least i did no need a mechanics ;-)

gordon368 11-24-2009 09:10 PM

interesting enough I have to do this one bymyself, What exactly has to be removed in order to access the area I need to get too?

Will this roughly take an hour to do? Basic tools needed?

is that a fair price on the part for it, if so I will go ahead and buy it:

Thanks

andrei3333 11-25-2009 05:56 PM

thats a damn good price for a bosch oem part for a volvo, i paid more than that

once you get your hands in there you will see what needs to be removed, its just a little hose that needs to be put aside

you will need a long flat screwdriver, or two, and i would use some kind of thin (not latex or nitrile) gloves like rubber dipped for better grip,,,

other than that, good luck and dont break the tabs that gold the sensor!!!

gordon368 11-29-2009 09:16 PM

shocking how easy this is to get too, I tried to clean it with carb cleaner, it didnt work. So I ordered the new sensor.

also found a used sensor for 24$? would any suggest that this be okay?

andrei3333 12-01-2009 06:26 AM

cannot say, it could be just as broken as your old one

Bender 12-02-2009 02:45 PM

sorry just saw this - on an S60 with no tools the swap took me about 40 seconds including opening the hood.

I wouldn't buy any sensor used, but thats just me.

gordon368 12-02-2009 10:03 PM

i ended up gettin it for 17$ hopefully it will be oka lol

car123 12-03-2009 05:52 AM

I have very less idea on it. Actually how much is the part is...?
By John,

Bender 12-03-2009 07:21 AM

i think i paid 40 for it brand new @ the dealer.

gordon368 12-03-2009 11:08 AM

really? everywhere I looked it was 79$ plus... lol... and at autozone they wanted 96$, so I thought they probably wanted more if I went to the delearship...

Bender 12-03-2009 11:48 AM

i also have a VERY good relationship with my dealer - they do give me a break on things from time to time.

andrei3333 12-03-2009 08:13 PM

its 125 + tax at any canadian dealer actually, it can be had for less online you you can find one in stock, and buying a used sensor its like buying something in a black box and you dont know whats inside...

Pretty sure it's spam. Disregard.

The user has one more day to remove the links in sig before they get an infraction.

P0236 P0237 Turbo boost sensor A circuit low

When it says "A circuit low" it's the MAP sensor measuring the turbocharger intake pressure. It is dead, or no power getting through it.

Check physical connection, clean the electrical contacts. If no different replace the part. Simple.

Bosch 0261230029 MAP sensor. Just google that number.

Got mine from RockAuto for $45 USD. 2 min fix. Rides smooth and fast pickup with better fuel consumption now. Was like this when I bought it. Replaced part and HIYAAAH love it even more. (2002 S80 T6).

Good luck
