2009 S80 T6 , Getting P0420 code, check engine light is on. I have replaced both O2 sensors but still there. I am thinking I have to bite the bullet and replace Cat. Anyone know where I can get an aftermarket one that will work well but is cheaper than getting it from Volvo? I can not justify spending the $1400 on OEM for a car with 170,000 miles... although I do love the car.

 

I shop prices at EEuroparts and FCP Euro for after market choices and Tasca Parts for genuine Volvo. You can even look at Rock Auto and Napa Online as they will probably have a Walker brand. If the car is still testing well for emissions, the $30 solution is to install a CEL-BOSS on the rear o2 sensor.

 

dont buy any cats happened to me.did me no good

 

take out the ECM and clean contacts,fixed my problem

 

I went thru a couple of these cheaper cats cause volvo cat was 2000 plus install (02 sensors etc) and months to get it- special order from Sweden.

tried D&C lasted 6 weeks, then got Bosal ( they said they never had a problem with s80.) it lasted 10 months.
last hope was Magnaflow the CA spec very high content type cat.. 500 miles sofar and no code.
