Passenger Mirror Acting up...

Well my passenger side mirror has not been working properly since I bought the car. I am kind of getting annoyed about it and I was wondering if you all could give me some advice on how to fix it.

When I move the mirror to the right it works OK. When I move it to the left (towards me) it is OK until it reaches a certain point and then it starts to pop. It will try to go further but it is acting like something is stuck in there that is making it not want to move any further. I try to look inside the mirror but I cannot see anything obstructing the mirror track. I can see out of this mirror, (with a little strain on the neck) but I would like to have it so that I can properly see out of it.

Do you guys have any idea what is wrong with my mirror?

Thanks!

Try this first. If it does not work then you might need a new motor assembly.
Try pushing the mirror glass all the way in by had. Sometimes they will go out to far then act up. If you feel it click a couple of times then it settles try adjusting with the motors and see if it is better.

Check and make sure both wires are connected to the glass for heating Issue.
The other issue follow the advise from above.

I was afraid to do that for fear of breaking it, but I tried it last night before I went bed. It did what you said it would, and I have it in the proper place but even if I still move it with the controls it pops. So I guess my next question is how much is a mirror motor assembly, and is it something that I can do myself or do I need the dealer to install it because of codes and stuff like that?

Thanks again Tech!

You should be able to do it your self. Just make sure they get the proper motor. Not sure on price though.

so how do i take the mirror apart to see the heating element behind it ? i dont see any screws below where the light sits...

Yes I need to know how to do that as well, just in case so I have to do this as well.

The glass needs to be carefully popped out. The element is part of the glass.

so does it sit in like a ball joint? or clips on four corners ? im scared to pry it loose and rip some wires behind it...

The glass slides onto one side of the motor then clips over the other side.
You have to pull the glass out some and look in with a flash light. But there is about a 50/50 chance it will break coming off or going back on.
