Please help: Experiencing a strange noise after timing belt change.

Hi guys

There is some chrange noise coming from the car after the timing belt was replaced. I can even hear it from the outside. I opened up the hood and the noise is coming right from the timimg cover. Has anyone ever experienced this before. The guy who changed it is a private certified volvo mechanic who has worked at volvo dealerships before he opened up his own business. Just want to know if anyone has ever had this problem before.

well you should show it to him asap..i am not sure what kind of noise is it and does it change with driving, when you 1st start the car up, intensifies when you give more gas, etc...
i had a toyota car and when the timing belt was changed i heard a whining noise ONLY when i start the car and dies down when operating @ normal temperature. In my case the tensioner was bit loose so just needed to adjusted..not sure in your case tho

I agree, take it back ASAP and ask him to check it. Chances are, something else is wrong, like a bad part like worn roller that wasn't replaced.

Hi Guys

Just to give you an update. I called the guy and he said that the clamps might be loose so he said he will have to check it out. So I will be taking it back to him. I will update you guys later on on this.
