Possible to swap in ABL headlight assemblies in halogen car?
 

Hey all,

Will be finalizing my purchase of my first Volvo shortly. 2009 S80 T6, AWD low mileage perfect for to me in every way, EXCEPT,

I guess I've become so accustomed to Xenon projector lights that I am horrified by not having them.

No problem, I figured, I can just pick up a set from a 2007-2012 S80 at the junk yard, and swap them in.

I know it will lack the harnesses and ballasts, but I figure I can pick up a set of D2s ballasts, a set of D2s bulbs and a relay harness from retrofit source and hook them up, as if it were originally equipped with them.

Are there any problems with this assumption? Any reason it wouldn't work?

I know the autobalance function won't work, , but what happens when they don't receive an autobalance signal? Do they just sit in a default aimed position? How good is that position?
