Remote stopped functioning (sort of)... why? And, what's up with the tire pressure?

Wife's car, 2008 S80, two remotes now doing the same thing. Replaced the vehicle battery a couple of weeks ago; this started a couple of days ago.

Go to unlock the car with the remote, no luck, grab second remote, same thing... no remote functionality.

Manually unlock the car, open the door to have the alarm go off, insert FOB, start car, all is good again.

Why the strangeness?

Second part, low tire pressure warning, right side... both have good pressure...

Related?

Thanks!

Changed FOB battery, nothing. As it sits in the garage, no response from the remote. Which means, same deal, key into the car, put the FOB in, start the car... calling the dealer in the morning, I suppose...

Aha! There is a magical "procedure" to reset the lock system:

With the key in the door, lock/unlock 3x and presto, everything works again...

Proof in the pudding, we'll see what the wife unit reports tomorrow!

Sometimes those tire sensors do die they have little batteries in them but seems odd for an 08 usualy takes 6 years or so

Strange... issue continues... reset and works then it doesn't...

Thanks for the battery info.

What does the owners manual say about changing the battery and remotes?

The batteries in the sensors cant be changed you have to replace the whole sensor they are 60 bucks a piece to install at discount tire co., if you go to them or any big tire chain they can scan the sensors to see if the batteries are dead.
