Default Replacing door lock actuator

New member here; I'm trying to replace front passenger side door lock actuator on my '04 S80. Discussions on this topic seem to focus on getting the door panel off, but that's easy; I've got it off and everything disconnected, but there does not appear to be a way to get the actuator assembly out; its is blocked by the window channel, and I don't see how to remove the channel or move it out of the way. At the bottom the channel is attached by what looks like some kind of rivet; does not appear to be removable without drilling. I'm no stranger to the insides of doors, at least on older cars, but this has me stumped. Is there a trick? Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi Dave,
Yep, you have to drill out the rivet and then the window guide channel pulls out of the way to get the lock out.

Thanks for the quick reply. Now I'll be able to get my door closed. In terms of replacing it, I'm not familiar with rivets that look like that; is it a standard rivet, or is it a Volvo part?

The dealer should stock it but you can use any rivet of the same size. I can't remember if that one is steel or aluminum, just don't use a plastic one.
