replacing ignition switch

Hi everyone,
I'm a new member from Maryland who owns a 1999 Volvo S80 with 181,000 miles on it. I bought it 5 years ago when it had 117,000 on it and have probably spent more in repairs than I actually paid for it. It is a shame because it runs great and has such a nice ride-- very comfortable car. I love the way Volvo's look but I think I would be hesitant to buy another one unless it has a warranty.
Anyway, I have a couple of questions that I am hoping someone can answer. First of all, I have had my car looked at recently by a Volvo dealer when I had the SRS message show in my dash. They told me I needed to replace the ignition switch. Occasionally when starting the car, I won't have any light on the radio, control panel, and my door locks and windows won't work. I have to either turn the car off and restart it again or just wiggle the key a little to get everything to work again. It is funny because I had this problem last year in the summer and it fixed itself by the message light going out and I never had any more problems the entire winter, but it came back again this summer. My question is, how easy would it be to replace the ignition switch myself to save money?

Secondly, I went to start my car today and noticed my clock was behind 5 hours. I reset it to the correct time, but it would not change when the minutes would change like a clock normally does. It just seems to be stuck on whatever time I set it to. Does anyone know whether my clock is a goner, or is there a fix to this? I do like to know what time it is when I'm driving! Thanks for your help.
