Rust and Corrosion = search for rear sub-frame
Took my 2009 S80 T6 AWD in for the mandatory yearly safety check. The rear sub-frame has failed due to rust/corrosion and obviously will not pass. Odometer reads 350,000 km [217,500 miles] The car has spent 95% of it's life in Atlantic Canada never more than 15 miles from the ocean. Dealer cost for the parts is close to $3000 + $1000 labour CDN = $2,800 US.
Does anyone know where I can source an entire rear sub-frame including trailing arms and any other bits and pieces that are attached to it.
Other wise the car drives very well, straight and true. A few small spots of body surface rust and does not burn oil except for a cup full every 6000 km [3827 miles] . Always maintained and loaded with options like rear seat videos, large rotor package, adaptive cruise, emerg braking, BLIS, lane warning and so on. But the local value is likely less than $3500 CDN. My other cars include a SAAB 95 Aero. I have had about 8 Volvos in my time and never had to scrap one. So I hate to see this one go but it's likely an accountant would advise me to. Any leads to the parts would be appreciated. Dealer advises that there are 2 sub-frames for that year depending on the VIN which is YV1AH992191090721
Thanks from Prince Edward Island Canada

I feel your pain being in VT which has tough rust/safety laws. Start by searching via car-part.com - its a search engine for recycle yards in the US and CA. You'd probably want to look in the south or west for older rust free cars.
Thank you for the info. I'll check. There is a frame in western Canada $970 + freight + labour = about $2350. I'm thinking if my cars rear member is bad then there likely will be other rust/corrosion issues soon.
