s80 losing power and smoking

I recently bought a 2006 volvo s80 with 200,000 miles on it. when I bought it. the low oil pressure light came on. And stop soon light. And making some type of taping noise. the guy I bought it from. said to drive it. So I did. while driving it for about 20 miles. the car started to get real sluggish. And smell like oil being burned. I look in rear view mirror. I see smoke. grey smoke. the car is back in shop. And they are playing with the oil. But I highly doubt they know what they're doing. can you guys help me. What do you think the problem could be.

wow that is high miles ..well from what i know a oil pressure could be few things
1) usually its due to torn o-rings on the oil pan...they will have to remove the oil pan to see. if you seee bubbles on the oil dipstick when the car is running then its those rings
2) check to see any oil leaking..try this site
3) before you bought the car did you get the car inspected ??
4) i think oil have entered the turbos thats the reason you are feeling car sluggish and possible smoke..so get the turbo inspected.

so ya there are lot of things to be checked i just hope the mechanic is well trained in volvos..dealer will be expensive. Why dont you go to volvo / european car speciality shops
