S80 T6 Help needed !
 

New member with S80 T6 (2000) question.....
Bought it used in August, and it's been excellent till now (72K on odometer)

My turbo(s) started fluctuating a few weeks ago, only a little and
not to often (at first). Shortly there after I got "Emissions Service Required"
in the message center. a few days later while driving, the message center
displayed "Performance Reduced" and it was! felt like the turbo(s) where not
even there, but then they would kick in and out.
The next day coming home from work same two messages above came up
plus a new one "Engine Service Urgent". the car felt like it was going
to quit ant any moment. I have parked it and did some research and suspect
the "Boost Solenoid".

My questions.....
Does that all sound right ?
Can I replace the solenoid my self ?
Is there more going on here than I realize, or can the solenoid
alone cause that much havoc.

Any advise is GREATLY appreciated... Thanks

You should have the codes pulled.The throttle body is known to go bad on these things.It will cause the problems you feel on the car.If it is the throttle body you might want to have the dealer do it.If not you can replace it then have it towed to the dealer so they can load the software.The software is needed for the car to run properly.The valve rarely goes bad on these cars.
